Be Unapologetically You: what burnout actually feels like

Meghann Misiak's burnout wasn't being tired. It was her brain switching off at a light switch. We talk about where the job lives in your body.

Meghann has been selling since she was sixteen: bathing-suit retail, leasing, tech. Two years of Sandler training took her from mediocre to President's Club. Now she runs her own coaching company and shows up on LinkedIn as the sales witch, tarot included, after years of hiding that side of herself.

Her burnout story is the most specific one I've heard. She was in her bedroom reaching for the light switch and her mind just... went blank. Like being at the bottom of the ocean with the entire weight of the world on top of her. That moment ended in a leave of absence.

Now she works with clients somatically: chest tightness as self-worth, jaw and throat as everything you didn't say, digestion as creativity and safety. Buy the chakra framing or don't; the question underneath it is the one worth sitting with: where in your body is the job living?

“I felt like I'm at the bottom of the ocean with the entire weight of the world on top of me.”

Notes

  • In sales since sixteen; Sandler training took her from mediocre to President's Club.
  • Her burnout had a precise moment: her brain switching off at a light switch, “bottom of the ocean.”
  • The breaking point led to a leave of absence.
  • She now maps stress somatically: chest = self-worth, jaw and throat = unspoken words, gut = safety.
